Numerous site visits were organized so that the SDR TPMET team could get to grips with some of the pre-selected projects. These on-site visits are of vital importance when it comes to assessing the feasibility of a project. In addition to the information provided by the applicants, SDR TPMET was able to draw up a brief diagnosis of the projects, their potential, their constraints and the specific characteristics of the location and any impact these might have on the projects.

These visits also enabled SDR TPMET to pass on ideas to project developers, helping them to refine their vision and add value to the product in relation to the Souss Massa region’s tourism offering.

What’s more, these visits were an opportunity to interact with the project leaders, to find out more about their motivations and get a glimpse of their entrepreneurial and tourist spirit. It’s also a way of taking their concerns into account and encouraging them to adopt a participatory and inclusive approach to surrounding tourism projects.

As a result, the field visits and related assessments will enable us to envisage the deployment of appropriate strategies to maximize the tourism potential of the Souss Massa region.
